Does the Miraclesuit really work?

The folks over at Miraclesuit have made the promise “to make you look 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds” – and based on their popularity, it seems like these specially enchanced lycra suits live up to it! They are made from a material called Miratex and the Miraclesuit provides three times the support. They come in one piece fashions as well as tankinis – they are the equivalent of swimsuit shapewear.  Regardless of size, we all desire support and fashionable styles in our beachwear choices – Miraclesuit is the perfect pairing of both.

Now they are more expensive than some of the other suits we’ve featured on the site – however they’re well worth the price! The Miraclesuit provides, coverage when necessary, support at all times, and cinches like regular shapewear!

The overall style of the Miraclesuit is fashioned toward the late 30’s and up age group. It’s conservative, not overly trendy – but you won’t look like a frumpy grandmother either.

The swimdress is another retro throwback style. The swimdress was the norm back when modesty was the standard. Over the course of time, they became shorter, less modest (relatively speaking) and today are widely associated with plus size swimwear.  Don’t be too shocked when see more and more ladies opting for the swimdress. The styles now are tres chic, trendy and provide the coverage that many of us are searching for! We’ve picked out several of our favorite swimdress styles for this summer season.

Metallic (lame) fabrics will be one of the hottest trends in swimwear this season. From oscar golds to sizzling reds – this fabric always stands out. We found a few one pieces that are worth adding to your swimsuit closet!

This first piece is a gold one piece from Spiegels. It features thin spaghetti straps, padded breasts, and a removable belt. I immediately thought Linda Carter or Farrah Fawcett when I saw this. It’s conservative enough for an older woman, but the fabric and belt accent gives it a youthful edge.

Spiegel Metallic Maillot

We love-love-love this metallic print swim dress! It’s another suit from Spiegel’s – metallic print swim dress with bandeau top and detachable straps. Ruched midriff.

Rockabilly Style BeachWear

The term “Rockabilly” refers to an early style of rock n roll made popular during the 1950’s. Some of the popular Rockabilly artists are Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson and Carl Perkins. In the world of fashion, Rockabilly refers to the clothing styles that were popular during this same time period. Think of Grease (the movie), pin-up girls, and Bettie Paige. Dita Von Teese is a modern example of the Rockabilly look as well. She’s often seen in mohair cardigan sweaters, pencil skirts, cigarette pants and scarves. Perfectly coiffed hair, red lipstick and liquid eyeliner is also a part of the signature Rockabilly look.
